The Gaelic Whisky Company are renowned for being independent through-and-through and produce whisky for whisky's sake. Rumour has it they are constructing a distillery on the Isle of Skye which will certainly be one to watch! This blend combines peat and brine with some soothing highlights from Speyside.
The aroma amalgamates coastal elements with peat and sherry in a Highland style.
Coffee and salt are very present with a hint of peat and some sweeter notes of caramel in the background.
The finish is hot and spicy and clings on for some time.
This great blended whisky is a challenge and that's a compliment. It forces the drinker to take stock and appreciate its many elements. Superb!
I am glad I saw the review by Robert M. as I thought my taste buds had shifted. I have been drinking this for years and the first of two bottles which I bought in December ‘24 and opened made me sit up because of the noticeable change. I am disappointed that a scotch whisky that I have enjoyed for many years has taken a change not necessarily for the worse but certainly will require an adjustment or possibly a change.
It’s way more peaty/smoker than in the past. I’ve had at least two bottles and they have been with a slight Smokey taste but ,my latest bottle Dec 2024 is very smokey which is a great shame as this was one of my favourites.
this dram is just like sitting on the beach by the camp fire . theirs a nice briny smell and taste, so mellow peat and a little sherrry sweetness. would by another bottle again anytime. yours to discover.
I bought a bottle of this last weekend for the first time. A divine taste, I will be coming back for more.
This is a very good beland at a great price. It has a rich, earthy flavour. I will definitely buy more of this.
