A single pot still release of Powers whiskey. It's matured in a combination of bourbon and oloroso sherry casks, and named after the distillery where it was first made, now sadly closed.
Barley, copper, fresh oak, leather, and juicy fruit.
Very smooth with vanilla, dry spice, chocolate and coffee. There is dark fruit here too, raisins and blackcurrants.
More vanilla and drying copper notes.
A very well balanced whiskey with not a note out of place. Lovely.

A lovely whiskey but it's not £20 per bottle better than standard Powers, Powers Gold Label is a fabulous spicy caramel oily pot still, the 12 year old is good- I was drinking both last Sunday in Dublin and I kept returning to the cheaper Gold Label
A wonderful flavourful dry spicy oakey citrusy Irish whiskey. I've an open bottle on my shelf for 4 years now that I tipple from occasionally and it holds its flavour really solidly, unlike those expensive smokey Isla whiskies which fade away quickly after opening. If you're useed to Jameson and other sweet sherry-loaded Irish whiskeys you might not take to it.
love. and lust. I am trying to track down Cask Strength? yes, that exists. would compare it to the quality of Booker's 8 yr. bourbon in terms of an Irish that rocks as hard and as long as a State-side--pardon if this comparison rubs some here the wrong way. love this juice. reflective bender here. (will make any inlaw visit palatable!)
Love this works well eating chocolate orange.just amazing always have a bottle of this in the cabnet
I'm a McKnight. This the best Irish Whiskey period.
