Powers John's Lane Release 12 Year Old Single Pot Still

A single pot still release of Powers whiskey. It's matured in a combination of bourbon and oloroso sherry casks, and named after the distillery where it was first made, now sadly closed.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Barley, copper, fresh oak, leather, and juicy fruit.

    Palate

Very smooth with vanilla, dry spice, chocolate and coffee. There is dark fruit here too, raisins and blackcurrants.

    Finish

More vanilla and drying copper notes.

    Overall

A very well balanced whiskey with not a note out of place. Lovely.

    Profound Experience

A truly immense whiskey with hints of thick tobacco and dry spiciness. Coffee, chocolate, with a short burst of vanilla... it's the reason I drink whiskey encapsulated in this bottle. Sublime.

Power to the Johns Lane, exceptional whiskey.

Tried many different Irish whiskeys over the last 25 years. Feckin, Tullamore, Wild Geese, Bushmills, Writers Tears, Jameson, Redbreast, Green Spot, Paddy, Powers Gold Label/Johns Lane, and many more. My favourite cheap end whiskey is Paddy, and top end is Powers Johns Lane. Ciroc is a top vodka. Metaxa 5,7,12 star, are very good, or the Private Reserve is exceptional.

    Superb!

One of the finest whiskeys in the world. Thick, Smooth, rich, oily and delicious, a phenomenal sipping whiskey and an absolutely outstanding example of the widely admired single pot still whiskey style. Very much worth searching for!

    Always Irish over Scotch!

Trying a glass in downtown Chicago! Lovely!

Best Irish Whiskey . Ever .

My friend introduced me in his home . To this day, when I taste it , I hear Angels sing . It comes very near + dear . To be enjoyed at length , certainly not in a hurry or (God forbid) w/ ice .
