Single Malt
Scotland
1 Oct 1982
1 Oct 2014
An independently bottled single malt from one of the most famous closed Scottish distilleries - the Port Ellen distillery on the island of Islay. It was distilled in October 1982 and matured in a single refill hogshead until October 2014, when it was bottled at 32 years old, without chill-filtration or additional colours, at 54.6% ABV. Only 120 bottles were produced.
It was only a matter of time until Douglas Laing released a Port Ellen single malt Scotch whisky as part of their Xtra Old Particular range, which was introduced in the latter half of 2014.
