Immensely rare and collectible (not to mention delicious), Port Ellen single malt is legendary amongst whisky enthusiasts. The distillery on Islay was closed in the 1980s and has remained as such ever since. However, their stocks still find their way to our glasses, much to the delight of Islay whisky fans.
This is a bottle of their third release of the 24 year old, which was distilled in 1979 and bottled in 2003 as part of the 2003 Diageo Special Releases. A seldom-seen whisky, bottled at a sturdy 57.3% ABV. 9,000 bottles of this rare piece were released.
