A bottling of Port Ellen single malt distilled in 1980 and bottled by Gordon & MacPhail for their Rare Old collection. The impressive whiskies from this closed Islay distillery are extremely sought after, and for good reason. 236 bottles were produced.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Honeyed oak, dried herbs, grape and barbecued tropical fruits.
Palate
A smoky fruit salad with more honey, salt and pepper, marsh samphire and green apples.
Finish
Embers, a return of that herbal character and some leather also.
