Single Malt
Scotland

Distilled in 1982 and aged for 22 years in refill sherry butts before bottling in 2004 by Gordon and MacPhail. Port Ellen has become a legendary distillery.
The nose is very well-peated and smoky. Wood smoke plumes and cartwheels with a touch of fruit and sweetness and a little green freshness. There are notes of barley sugar lurking. The palate is very thick and rich. The peat is big and chewy with elegance as the smoke rises atop a wave of cut grass and mint leaves and something herbaceous. The is very short with dry smoke left in the mouth.
