Whisky Souls
Bourbon
Matured for a magnificent 35 years in a host of bourbon barrels, this single grain Scotch whisky joins the collection from independent bottler Living Souls. Bottled at a generous 50.5% ABV, it's a cracking find for fans of well-aged grains.

I got this whisky to celebrate passing my driving test and have loved it far too much. The nose is the sweetest nose on any whisky I’ve tried. It’s full of caramel, pastries and vanilla. On the mouth the spirit is light and lacks the depth and complexity of single malts I’ve enjoyed. The light spirit goes down smoothly. It gave way to fuller flavours and was a much better whisky after I left it for 20 minutes, as you might expect for a drink of this age. On the palette this was sweet and fruity. I got bananas and tropic fruits along with the caramel I already got on the nose. It was reminiscent of the Arran Quarter-cask in fruitiness but was a little sweeter and lighter. Even my partner, who doesn’t usually like whisky, said they enjoyed the sweeter notes in this one. Overall it’s a very special bottle of great spirit. The fact that Port Dundas is closed and there is only a limited quantity of this spirit both makes this an extra-treasured dram and adds a bitter-sweet note to watching the bottle slowly deplete.
