Port Askaig 12 Spring '20 Bottling Note

A limited edition Port Askaig single malt! This 12 Year Old was drawn from a combination of 2006 and 2007 vintage hogsheads, bottled in Spring 2020. A total of 18 bourbon hogsheads were combined to create this expression, so there's a lovely balance of sweetness among the classic Islay smoke.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Peat smoke shrouds a sea breeze, with a burst of lemon sherbet.

Palate: Lemon pie and white nectarine lead into beach bonfire and vanilla fudge.

Finish: Flamed citrus peels and barbecue spices, with freshly cut grass lingering.

Port Askaig 12 Year Old - Spring 2020 Edition Reviews

Well, intresting but not my cup of tea..

I have tried 4 different whiskys from port askaig and I really like the smoky ones, 100 proof is the most bang for the buck in my opinion but I really enjoy their 14 year old expression as well.
This is the most pricy port askaig I've had and I don't say I don't like it, but for the money it will only be a 3,5 star.

Good taste but different!

Really well tasting but somewhat odd and hard to place. A good addition to any Islay collection.
