Port Askaig 12 Year Old - Autumn 2020 Edition
Another batch of Port Askaig's fab 12 year old single malt Scotch whisky right here - this is the Autumn 2020 Edition, to be specific. To be even more specific, this one was drawn from nine refill American oak hogsheads, five Oloroso sherry butts and three solera sherry butts. Those sherry casks have imparted a wealth of fruity sweetness to the whisky, helping to balance its smoky wafts.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Smoked meats, milk chocolate and raspberry sorbet.
Palate
Roasted nuts, juicy red berries and a good helping of barley.
Finish
Subtly vegetal and earthy on the finish, though with another hint of raspberry underneath.
