Pike Creek 10 Year Old is a top notch Canadian whisky which gets treated to a finishing period in rum barrels before bottling (previously Pike Creek was finished in Port casks, though the producer changed it to rum barrels at some point in the 2010s). Excellent stuff, and great value-for-money, too.
Honey'd raisins and pecans, with a spicy little kick of herbaceous rye hiding in there.
Old-fashioned cola cubes, cardamom heat, caramel and a clear suggestion of good rum.
Lasting notes of brown sugar and dried oak.
This was a surprise and a delight. Smooth but full of flavour, a real mouthful. No burn either in the mouth or down the throat. Not quite good enough to warrant 5 stars. I wouldn't rush to buy it again but I probably will at some point. Recommended.
This is my favorite whisky for the price. Absolute smooth and drinkable with an extra sweetness from the rum barrel.
not bad but the rum barrel infulance is to dominant its like mixing an once of whisky and an ounce of Havana Club together
I have had several Bottles since I found it here in Pennsylvania.fantastic...subtle Rum Notes. like it as much as 12 y.o. REDBREAST and that is saying a lot.
A very decent canadian whiskey. Very smooth. Maple syrup. Rum casks. Sweet. Very light.
