Pike Creek 10 Year Old is a top notch Canadian whisky which gets treated to a finishing period in rum barrels before bottling (previously Pike Creek was finished in Port casks, though the producer changed it to rum barrels at some point in the 2010s). Excellent stuff, and great value-for-money, too.
Honey'd raisins and pecans, with a spicy little kick of herbaceous rye hiding in there.
Old-fashioned cola cubes, cardamom heat, caramel and a clear suggestion of good rum.
Lasting notes of brown sugar and dried oak.

As a Canadian I've been pleasantly surprised by Canada's burgeoning spirits industry. The masters tasting notes are spot on and pricing, at least in Canada, is fair. Many folks like to keep a "table wine" ; something easy drinking, enjoyable, but not too precious. I would call the 10 year old Pike Creek a commendable "table whisky."
This is a very smooth affordable 10 year. The rum cast finish is outstanding.
Another great Canadian Whiskey straight up .., smooth with a rum flavor and full body finish with a woody after taste. Try a snifter glass to really appreciate .
Love it! So good, my new favorite with Canada Dry Ginger Ale!
My hubby will only drink this. Even I can drink it. It's so smooth like a nice rub down rather than a punch in the face!!
