Created by Richard Paterson, the chap behind the Sheep Dip range, comes another farmyard-themed whisky - it’s Pig’s Nose! Fear not, of course there weren’t actually any snouts harmed in the making of this blend. The reason behind the name is because it's as 'smooth as a pig's nose', as the saying goes.
To be honest, we’ve never actually touched a pig’s nose, though after tasting this whisky we’re sure they must be very smooth indeed.
Gristy and youthful, some fruit, barley malt, porridge. Young but very sweet.
Creamy and sweet. Soft, gentle, quite gristy, rather oily and slightly coastal. Hints of salt.
Medium length, salty butters and caramel.

First of all, a reminder of the old adage - 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder'!. There have been some very mIxed reviews of this whisky (Who had the gall and ignorance to call it WHISKEY!!!) A little humility would not go amiss. Every opinion expressed here is just that - OPINION! Given the choice, I'm a malt man every time, but I'm still happy to savour the pleasures of blends. Peat is pretty much a personal taste. I like peats; I like many which are not peaty; some people hate peats. That does not mean peats are bad - it is all down to individual preference and taste; some of the reviewers on this website would do well to remember that! Personally I found Pig's Nose smooth, mellow and very palatable, maybe more so because it was a gift from a friend because I regularly cut his grass. Harsh critics need to lighten up

absolutely awful. it tastes like alcohol and corn mash.
Not bad at all for the price. Initial impression was that it reminds me slightly of Famous Grouse, but has a more complex, interesting flavour. Quite smooth and easy to drink, with just a slightly harsh tang on the finish. Definitely one of the better cheap-ish blends out there.
Received a bottle as a gift, the giver knows I'm a Tomatin, Glen-12 and -10 fan, and I was initially underwhelmed by the lack of peat but pleased with the flavor...After the second or third drink, I became more attached to the young malt. Nice palate, great finish, entirely tasty. Won't replace the Tom12, but still a great scotch. Cheers!
