    Pig's Nose

Created by Richard Paterson, the chap behind the Sheep Dip range, comes another farmyard-themed whisky - it’s Pig’s Nose! Fear not, of course there weren’t actually any snouts harmed in the making of this blend. The reason behind the name is because it's as 'smooth as a pig's nose', as the saying goes.

To be honest, we’ve never actually touched a pig’s nose, though after tasting this whisky we’re sure they must be very smooth indeed.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Gristy and youthful, some fruit, barley malt, porridge. Young but very sweet.

    Palate

Creamy and sweet. Soft, gentle, quite gristy, rather oily and slightly coastal. Hints of salt.

    Finish

Medium length, salty butters and caramel.

    worth the price, try it

interesting that monkey shoulder is lumped into the same heap of blended scotches, to those unfamiliar with scotch i routinely recommend monkey shoulder as it is easy on the palate, pig nose despite its relative smoothness and muted peat is not for the faint of heart, rather it is for the tested palate that knows what it's looking for, smoke with with a hint of plum or raisin is how i would describe it, certainly worth the risk

    It's pretty good.

Pig's nose is a pretty good blend for how inexpensive it is. I will say that the same distillery makes Sheep Dip which is the tastier counterpart to this blend. But if you're new to scotch, need a cheap bottle, or just want something that doesn't punch your palate... this is a decent blend. It's very smooth, has hints of dessert flavors like caramel (with a peach aftertaste... yum), and is very cheap. This is typically the bottle I pull for drinkers that aren't experienced with scotch. Give it a try, you're not losing out on a lot.

    Buy something better.

This is not bad but really it is not that great. Either buy better or not at all, life is too short to be drinking second rate whisky.
