Penderyn Legend is a Welsh single malt whisky firstly matured in bourbon barrels and finished in ex-Madeira casks before it's bottled, imparting an intriguing touch of vibrant sweetness. It has been bottled at 41% ABV, slightly lower than the Welsh distillers' other Madeira-cask-finished single malt.

I think for the money it's good, nice and smooth, gives a good kick up the nose as u sip. The sweetness is a bit different, but definatly smooth and drinkable, would buy again. Lacking a bit on complexity but would deffo buy again.
I want to have faith in Penderyn, I think its great that Welsh whisky is coming around, its just they need to drop the madeira finishes, it really doesn't work for it in my opinion, too sweet, too sickly and not balanced. Its a shame because the spirit underneath has potential... hopefully they will release some age stated no nonsense stuff soon... just to be able to get the full distillery character.
Expected much better - tried to enjoy it but it is rough and burns the throat. Big disappointment.
It's like drinking rocks pulled out from under a shipwreck. Almost inclined to concede it as undrinkable neat; one hell of a punch with every sip. Very different class from my usual tipples, which makes for a refreshing variety in my cabinet. A welcomed distinction where there's usually sameness.
Mild, smooth, easy to drink !
