A Welsh single malt whisky here from Penderyn, matured for eight years in a single Moscatel de Setúbal cask. The famous fortified wine is produced in the Setúbal Peninsula of Portugal, primarily from the muscat grape, and is known for its sweet, rich, and aromatic characteristics. Just 139 bottles were filled at 60.2% ABV, exclusively for us at Master of Malt.
Citrus, peach cobbler, gooseberry, cinnamon, and rich malt.
Tinned apricot, figs, nutty elements, oak spice, and orange blossom.
Drying oak and stone fruit.

I've never tried Welsh whiskey before. This was on the level of some of the best Scotch whiskies I had. I was even more surprised to discover it's only 8 years matured. It has the numbing sensation, a bit of warmth, a lot of sweetness and clear muscat wine notes. I'd say it's at the right price range, despite the age.
