The first release from Peatreekers is their Double Standard blended malt, made with whiskies from the much-adored Isle of Islay. The name references tales of illicit distillers back in the days or yore, who would bribe unscrupulous tax collectors with bottles of whisky rather than give up their whole operation. A smoky treat, perfect for autumnal dramming.
Fragrant oak-y smoke followed by honey-coated cereal and a touch of rye bread.
Milk chocolate, orange, sawdust, earthy peat and a light whiff of floral malt.
Fresh vanilla pod, lemon peel and lasting toasty barley.
This is the best malt blend I have encountered for my taste. I like peaty and smoky whisky. Its peaty in every way but non insulting, its oily and has no dark sides whatsoever. Will buy again .. Cheers
This is a nice islay. Very subtle. Poor abv. A mix of distillery. A bit boring to be honest. Gifted so enjoyed. Not worth parting cash for though really. Nice story and nice bottle but that is all. M. Horrell
Stunning. If you love Islay malt you won't be disappointed.
I was given a bottle as a present and boy does it hit the spot. If you like peaty whisky this is a good one. Not too overpowering but enough to satisfy the senses. Good stuff!
I'm fairly new to Whisky. I knew I liked the smoky taste from some Whiskys so went for this. To me it tastes really earthy, (Peat i assume). It reminded me of soil and tobacco. The smoky taste sits on the pallette for a while. Can't get enough of it.
