A triple distilled blended Irish Whiskey produced in Cork and made, unusually, with all three styles of Irish whiskey: single pot still, single malt and grain. First produced in 1779, it wasn't until 1913 that it changed it's name to Paddy after legendary salesman Paddy Flaherty. Before that it had the rather catchy name of "Cork Distilling Company Map of Ireland Old Irish Whiskey". Rolls right off the tongue that one.
The nose is oily and fresh with floral notes, cereal grains and plenty of fruit.
The palate is sweet and of medium-body with toffee and cereals, a rosewater note with a little butterscotch and vanilla.
The finish is spicy and dry with a little black pepper and oak.

I like the taste of Jameson better but this is great stuff and does not give the hangovers like Jameson can. I have tested this theory 6 times now with equal consumption, with 3 others I may add, we all came to the same conclusion.
I had Paddy for the first time on a layover in Shannon..I buy a couple bottles every time I fly through.... smooth and great tasting whiskey

Highly recommended...smooth...only a hint of the grain...the malt and oak and honey'd oak come barreling through with grace. only $26.99 for us...and often on sale for $2 off. this is 1L...i remember when i brought back a bottle from the Shannon Airport...glad we can finally enjoy it whenever we want it. even impressed an Irish friend who never had it and was not expecting it to compete with his favorite drams. it's not quite a 5 star but then it is closer to 5 than 4. this distillery impresses!
