Description

A triple distilled blended Irish Whiskey produced in Cork and made, unusually, with all three styles of Irish whiskey: single pot still, single malt and grain. First produced in 1779, it wasn't until 1913 that it changed it's name to Paddy after legendary salesman Paddy Flaherty. Before that it had the rather catchy name of "Cork Distilling Company Map of Ireland Old Irish Whiskey". Rolls right off the tongue that one.

Nose

The nose is oily and fresh with floral notes, cereal grains and plenty of fruit.

Palate

The palate is sweet and of medium-body with toffee and cereals, a rosewater note with a little butterscotch and vanilla.

Finish

The finish is spicy and dry with a little black pepper and oak.

It’s smooth

Ordered this whisky on Monday and it arrived on Wednesday it’s a birthday present it was superbly packed and I am sure my husband will enjoy it he had a paddy whisky somewhere but couldn’t find it locally. Very impressed with the service.

Bang for Buck

For the price, hard to beat Paddy. Sure, there’s better whiskies out there. But you pay for what you get... except with Paddy. Their quality is higher than what they charge. Paddy’s doesn’t have that “spike” of flavor that can sometimes overwhelm the flavor of the oak, or wood cask. It has a bold, and smooth taste with lingers in a good way. I almost want to say Paddy’s sell themselves short, but I’m happy they have and care not for a change.

The best whiskey you can find in this price range. Simple stuff, but far from boring. Try it, I think you will be glad that you did.

Paddy is all I want

No airs and graces, no overcooked cabbage, no whiff of bonfire. No, this is just Irish whiskey, plain and simple - I love it's lightness and restorative effect. It would be false of me to pretend I'd prefer a dearer piece of marketing. I wouldn't. I'm happy with a Paddy mixed 1:2 with sparkling water.

Had better...

Pretty tasteless, even for an Irish blended whiskey. Their site advertises cocktails, but its watered down enough. Spend a little more and buy yourself one of Jameson's special editions, or Tullamore Dew.
