This addition to the Old Perth Vintage Collection is a 2009 vintage blended malt Scotch whisky combining spirit matured in three types of sherry cask, from three well-known distilleries. The vatting of whiskies, drawn from a second-fill oloroso butt, a second-fill oloroso hogshead, and a first-fill Pedro Ximénez hogshead was bottled without added colour or chill filtration at a generous 53.6% ABV.
Polished oak, aromatic tobacco, prunes, raisins, and sultanas, with a touch of leather beneath.
Heaps of spiced, dried fruits, with candied citrus, plump raisins and dark toffee.
Fruit cake spices linger with caramelised nuts, biscuity malt, and rich oak.
