With the Number 5 release, Old Perth blended malt Scotch whisky has demonstrated that it's still committed to preserving the legacy of the cherished brand that first graced our shelves in the early 1900s. The original may have sadly ceased production in the 1970s, but since 2013 Morrison & MacKay have endeavoured to celebrate the Scottish city of Perth through a loving and respectful revival. Five releases later and it's still going strong.
Barley malt is apparent, with hints of spice and caramel.
There's a peppery sensation that eagerly rushes through the malty palate, that's then calmed with some subtle sweetness.
Satisfying length that resists becoming indulgent, with some spice.
A blend of malt and spice with slight sweet notes. Close you eyes and take yourself back, it's almost real.
