A marvellous addition to the Aged Collection from Old Perth! This blended malt combines whiskies that have been matured in sherry casks for 12 years. Non-chill filtered and bottled without added colour, it's a fantastic demonstration of Old Perth's blending prowess.
What i love about Master of Malt is that their tasting notes closely match my experience. This is a very good Whisky, the nose has notes of fruit & nut chocolate, rich malt & baking spices. The palate gives spicy orange marmalade, honey biscuits & spicy oak. The finish eases away with dried boozy fruit, milk chocolate & a touch of ginger. The nose & palate are strongest here with the finish being a little lack lustre in my opinion. All in all a very good Whisky.
For me this represents a very well made sherried dram which is excellent value for me. An excellent everyday dram that can be enjoyed throughout the year but I particularly enjoyed the cinnamon spice, stewed fruits and dark chocolate on the palate.
