Another bottling from the highly-collectable Game of Thrones-themed series, this single malt Scotch whisky from Highland producer Oban is paired with the hardcore military order The Night's Watch. They could probably do with some Scotch in The Night's Watch, as it's pretty darn cold where they are!

If you haven't seen the show, essentially The Night's Watch hold and guard the Wall, an immense ice structure which separates the northern border of the Seven Kingdoms from the lands beyond. If you're not very familiar with Oban, it's a whisky producer in the Highlands that sits on the edge of Scotland’s western coast that's known for its clean and intensely fruity Scotch. In our opinion, both provide equally important services. One protects the realm from raiders and worse (no spoilers, people), while the other makes very tasty whisky for us to drink. See - equally important.

Please note that this bottle does not come with a presentation tube. Not to worry, the delicious whisky inside will taste just as good!

Tasting Note by The Producer

The initial sip confirms the richness with a wave of heavy, luxurious notes of Morello cherry pie and candied orange peel that burst open on the palate. Long and rich as it drifts into wonderful crème caramel and a gentle wisp of charred oak.

Night's Watch & Oban Bay Reserve - Game of Thrones Single Malts Collection (No Tube) Reviews

Smooth, long lasting sweetness, could drink this with a mature cheese

Tasted this in the Oban Distillery bar and wow! What a simply gorgeous warming whiskey. This is sweet and oh so smooth. The very lightest hint of smoke, full of red fruit from a mature second cask, almost a hint of vintage port in there. This has a long lasting finish, I will be getting another afore I go!

A drinkable Oban in a fun bottle!

A very nice Oban, I was worried the GOT marketing would mean it was hyped in price but I feel I got good value. I liked the irony of dedicating one to the sworn enemy of those North of the Wall!

Light fruit with bittersweet almond finish rounded of by a hint of oak smoke

I can confirm this is quite nice, a barely detectable little wisp of smoke sitting well behind a palette reminiscent of simnel cake soaked in luxardo maraschino liqueur with the toasted marzipan as a bittersweet finish.

Tom

Out of the eight only four are worthy, this together with lagavulin, talisker and royal lochnagar. The rest either you are a diehard G.O.T. fans or a flipper in the auction
