North of Scotland 46 Year Old 1971 (Master of Malt)
A real gem of a single grain Scotch here, hailing from the North of Scotland distillery. We didn't make that up – this lesser-known distillery only operated between 1957 and 1980, during which time, this superb whisky was produced. Matured in a refill ex-bourbon barrel between 1971 and 2018, a total of 154 bottles were filled by us right here at Master of Malt, at a whopping 46 years old.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Aromas of an antique shop with old oak and wood polish are followed by crumbly vanilla fudge. Buttered crumpets with homemade jam join in time.
Palate
Quite festive with spiced fruit and fragrant tobacco, a touch of marmalade, and citrus blossom. Vegetal barley and floral tea rest at the core.
Finish
More grassy malt arrives, joined by grilled apricot.
