North of Scotland 46 MoM Bottling Note

A real gem of a single grain Scotch here, hailing from the North of Scotland distillery. We didn't make that up – this lesser-known distillery only operated between 1957 and 1980, during which time, this superb whisky was produced. Matured in a refill ex-bourbon barrel between 1971 and 2018, a total of 154 bottles were filled by us right here at Master of Malt, at a whopping 46 years old.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Aromas of an antique shop with old oak and wood polish are followed by crumbly vanilla fudge. Buttered crumpets with homemade jam join in time.

Palate: Quite festive with spiced fruit and fragrant tobacco, a touch of marmalade, and citrus blossom. Vegetal barley and floral tea rest at the core.

Finish: More grassy malt arrives, joined by grilled apricot.
