Scotland
Sherry
Back again and tasting better than ever, this Scotch takes you to Edinburgh, before the air got cleaned up. To when Gorgie and Dalry carried the warm, sweet haze of brewing and distilling. Where malt, yeast, and time drifted through the streets and turned the whole place into something quietly magical.
That’s what Sam Simmons tasted in this whisky. A year later, it’s back. Same liquid. Same idea. Just… dressed a little differently.
Dalry M***: Part Deux. A North British 16-year-old single grain that spent its time maturing in a 2:1 combo of oloroso and palo cortado sherry casks.
Creamy notes of condensed milk, buttery flapjack, and Rich Tea biscuits, with hints of milky Coco Pops and burnt brown sugar.
Sweet layers of burnt sugar and vanilla cream, fudge, milk chocolate, tinned peaches and pears.
So creamy, so chocolatey, with nutty cereal, rice pudding, gently warming ginger, and toffee pennies.

Wish I'd bought more than two of these. Missed out on last year's as I thought it was a wind up. I'm a big grain fan and this is gluggable, smooth, creamy, rich and full of flavour. No wonder it sold out so quickly. Excellent.
