North British 33 Year Old 1988 (cask 18974) - The Sovereign (Hunter Laing)

Superb single cask, single grain whisky from the brilliant North British distillery. Distilled back in 1988, it rested in a refill hogshead for 33(!) years, before Hunter Laing bottled it up for the Sovereign series. Just 158 bottles were released of the gloriously buttery, tropical Lowland whisky.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose

Strawberry ice cream, milk chocolate, and brown sugar, with a touch of gently spicy oak.

Palate

Ripe banana, ground black pepper, buttered toast, and vanilla.

Finish

Fried pineapple and cigar box.
