North British 33 Year Old 1987 (cask 238570) - The Cooper's Choice (The Vintage Malt Whisky Co.)
This marvellous single grain from the North British Distillery is brought to us by The Vintage Malt Whisky Co. as part of its independent Coopers Choice series. Distilled in 1987, the whisky was allowed to rest in a single bourbon cask, all the way up until 2021, when the cask was cracked open to release 240 bottles of this terrific 33 year old.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Vanilla ice cream, buttered sourdough, bold oak, baked apple, and toffee.
Palate
Sweet vanilla caramel, popcorn, chocolate dipped candied orange, a dusting of cinnamon.
Finish
Oily zest and creamy grain mingle with a good helping of cakey baking spice.
