That Boutique-y Whisky Company
Scotland
27 year old single grain Scotch whisky from the North British distillery, independently bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company! The henchman is still explaining to the sinister-looking chap behind the desk about the plans - he's apparently a bit concerned with the progress of the 20 foot chickens! Ah well, at least the flying monkeys seem to be doing good...
Batch 3 is a release of 760 bottles.
‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains, blended malts, blends and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic-novel-style labels.
Strong coffee with a generous dash of caramel sauce, orange pith and mint leaf.
Werther's Originals dropped in cinnamon and cardamom. More coffee bean richness. Cola cubes.
Chocolate and white pepper, with a little bit of bourbon-like corn notes.

Rarely go for grain, but had to try after reading the comments about this one. Amazing whisky for the price. Soft despite the ABV and really comes out with just a few drops of water. Very balanced but feels a little younger than its age.
Exceptional for the price, a very medicinal spirit. Cleared three bottles since December, recently ordered and received another four?
There's something about this release in particular that sets it apart from other similar grains - maybe it was a first-fill cask?
Hugely caramel-rich - it's sort of unfair to compare (any) grain whisky with single malt - or even blends - they're an entirely different species altogether, but it's fair to say that as grain whiskies go, this one is pretty special. It's not yet developed any of that tertiary rancio-character, but the middle-aged creaking of timbers is there aplenty.
Very good. Never had a single grain before. But what a depth (I compare it with a 'genever or jenever', but what a taste!). Bourbon-like vanilla - a lot! Very smooth - even undilluted, for that ABV (56%) !
