North British 18 Year Old 1994 - Single Cask (Master of Malt)

Here's a treat; an 18 year old single cask grain whisky! Distilled at North British in December 1994, it was bottled at natural cask strength in April 2013 as part of Master of Malt's Single Cask series. 240 creamy and zesty bottles were produced, full of classic grain yumminess.

The North British Distillery in Edinburgh produces grain whisky for such well-known blended whiskies at Johnnie Walker, Cutty Sark, and Famous Grouse but does not release its own single grain whiskies.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Mint and lemon zest. Bright at the fore, but underneath is a creamy and boozy custard. Grain is apparent.

    Palate

Zesty and lemon-y but still creamy with big dollop of vanilla.

    Finish

Bright and sweet. Moreish and delish.

    Overall

Classically grain with a lovely lemon zest to balance the rich vanilla. Fresh and delightful.
