North British 17 Year Old Single Grain (Thompson Bros.)
A dangerously easy-drinking single grain from Thompson Bros.’ An Edinburgh Dram series, distilled at North British Distillery in 2008 and matured for 17 years in sherry oak. It's creamy, chocolate-heavy, and deeply comforting stuff, wrapped up in Thompson Bros.’ usual charmingly eccentric style.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Milk chocolate buttons, cocoa powder, hazelnut spread, and caramel wafers, with soft raisin sweetness underneath.
Palate
Chocolate mousse, vanilla fudge, and biscuit malt, followed by dried fruit, cinnamon, and café latte notes.
Finish
Long, sweet, and cocoa-rich, with oak spice and buttery toffee.
