From the Lowland-based North British distillery comes this glorious 13 year old single grain whisky. Distilled in 2007, the whisky was allowed to mature in a trio of bourbon hogsheads, before being transferred to Tawny Port casks for finishing. Eventually, the clever folks at Murray McDavid cracked open the casks bottled the whisky at 50% ABV for the Select Grain series.
Buttery oak, vanilla, toasted oats, and sugared cereal.
Mouth coatingly creamy, with whiffs of lemon posset. Gently herbal, grassy notes balance juicy chocolate raisins and butterscotch.
Floral melon and citrus zest combine with boozy sultanas and warming oak spice.
