Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose

Butterscotch, poached pears, toffee apples, nougat and nutmeg.

Palate

Buttery oak, rounded malt, a touch of leather and a hint of smoke.

Finish

Spicy, fruity, decent length with a little cocoa.

Sublime, not easy to get anymore

Got this bottle for myself for a celebration, was one of the last few available of the 12 year old statement in my country. An extremely gentle blend that will suck your nose into the snifter and keep it there for the duration of the dram. No longer available in any way, shape or form to me at least. Kicking my self that I didn't get the other 2 bottles of it that was in the store at the time.

Good but expensive

Have only tried a sample and am not the most experienced on whisky drinkers so feel free to take this with a pinch of salt. I do like this, it’s quite perfumed on the nose, immensely smooth with subtle smoke and a long warming finish. I’m not enough of an expert to taste the notes other may do. Not sure I’d fork out over 100 quid for this. I think I prefer the Nikka from the Barrel at about half the price but maybe that’s my unsophisticated tastes
