As a small lad I recall my father drinking Wilsons Whisky on what seemed a reasonably regular occasion. Recently I have had the privalige of acquiring a few of the offerings from the old distillery that were rescued and cared for in Oamaru. The 23 was delicious. My two brothers and I spent an evening mulling over old stories and reminecing about our favourite times with our departed dad with that fine offering. I just sat down with the 25 in a Neat glass on the eve of dads birthday. I can see him now smiling. This is soft, sweet, balanced and beautiful. I won't bang on about its beauty, the old man would give me a look if I did. Suffice to say, he would have approved. A great dram from the Edinburgh of the South. I can hear the bagpipes playing as I sip this.
