Splendid single malt Irish Whiskey from the Mourne Dew Distillery! A careful balance of peated and unpeated malts are aged in bourbon casks before a finishing period in IPA casks – which is rather intriguing indeed!
Fruity notes of pineapple and peach, soft peat with a whisper of menthol and gently toasted oak.
Lovely oak spice, peppery with hints of cinnamon and anise countered by sweet apricot and subtle hints of peat.
Spiced fruitcake and dark chilli chocolate, peat sits comfortably in the background without overwhelming the palate.

This is a crackin whiskey. Mildly, but noticeably peaty and slightly sweet. Highly recommended.
