Mosgaard PX Cask Batch 8 Bottling Note

A superbly sherried single malt from Denmark's Mosgaard! This expression was first aged in French oak casks, before being moved over to Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, giving the whisky ample time to take on flavour characteristics from the famous fortified wine. We've been well impressed with Mosgaard's whiskies, and this one continues that theme.

Mosgaard Single Malt Whisky - Pedro Ximénez Cask Finish (Batch 8) Reviews

Very pleasant with an interesting finish

Another pleasant surprise from my 2022 MoM whisky advent calendar and my first single malt from outwith the UK. Very nice it is too with a food mouth feel, and long finish. The only oddity is that when you first swallow there's a burst of something like an anise for a second or too ... which isn't a bad thing but just surprising.
