Mortlach 30 Year Old 1989 - Old & Rare Platinum (Hunter Laing)
An indie Mortlach single malt, drawn from a sherry single cask that was filled all the way back in 1989. After 30 years of rest, the cask was cracked open and the whisky was independently bottled by Hunter Laing for the Old & Rare Platinum range. 317 bottles were produced.
Tasting Note by The Producer
This amber coloured whisky has raisins, coffee, tobacco and the trademark Mortlach rubber notes on the nose. Rich red fruits from the Oloroso cask from which it was filled on the palate along with honey-roasted ham, fennel and dark chocolate. Long, lingering and peppery on the finish.
