Well-matured Mortlach! This is yet another tasty treat from Douglas Laing's Xtra Old Particular range, reserved for rather special expressions. It was distilled in April 1989 and aged for 30 years in a refill hogshead, then bottled in November 2019. Just 210 bottles were released.
Big, meaty and malted as the nose opens, building to marmalade, cereals and spices.
The palate is spice laden and tongue-tingling with sugars, molasses and a home-baked quality, all rounded up neatly into its mid-length, fudge focused finish.
