A cask strength sherry-matured Mortlach from MacKillop's Choice. This was distilled on the 1st September 1989 and aged for 22 years in cask 3926 before bottling in March of 2012. Each bottle is individually numbered.
Soft malt and cinnamon, acacia honey and figs.
A simple, easy-going soft of palate with peach nectar, plum wine, thick malt and date and walnut loaf.
More of those nutty, walnut notes on the finish.

This particular cask is superb. A bit shy on the nose but so very, very impressive and long lasting in taste with the Mortlach meatiness finely rounded up by refill sherry notes. The bottles seem to be gone but if you're in the market for a sample of one hell of a Mortlach this is where it's at, and in a tasting I bet this thing would rout each and every one of the new Diageo 50cl Mortlachs, even the 25 which costs around 7-8 times as much.
It's a drinklable dram I would rate it between 75 and 80 points . the problem is there's just nothing there.
amazing
I have been looking for this for ages and was thrilled to find it here
