This is a Signatory bottling of single malt from the Mortlach distillery, drawn from a pair of hogshead casks that aged the whisky for 20 years. These casks were filled in July 1996 and opened in September 2016, with the whisky being bottled for the Un-Chillfiltered Collection.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Meaty malt, dusted with ground ginger and clove. A hint of juicy pear in the background.
Palate
Citrus beings to pick up speed on the palate, followed by fruit & nut chocolate bars and honey'd porridge.
Finish
Honey on toast, stem ginger and white pepper.
