Description

The Beast of Dufftown gets acquainted with Pedro Ximénez sherry in this 18-year-old Mortlach from Murray McDavid. Distilled in 2008, it initially matured in an ex-bourbon hogshead before spending its final four years in a PX sherry barrique from Bodegas Ximénez-Spínola. Bottled in 2026 for the Mission Gold collection, cask 2201354 yielded just 244 bottles at 54.3% ABV.

Nose

Baked apple and dried apricot, with a waxy richness underneath.

Palate

Substantial, chewy malt meets soft toffee sweetness and fruity peach notes.
