One of the first bottlings from Gordon & MacPhail's relaunched Distillery Labels bottling range - a 15 year old Mortlach single malt. The whiskies from this series all feature retro-styled labels, so it's a bit like stepping in a time machine and being greeted with whisky instead of scary dinosaurs. Ideal, really.
Soft sherry sweetness, backed up by vanilla-y malt and stewed pear.
Slightly grassy and spicy at first, but soon enough the rich sherried notes return.
Waxy orange, cinnamon and new leather.
All I can say is G&M really know their stuff
I love it. My 'go to' dram, good sippin whisky neat.
