Mortlach 13 Year Old 2007 - Hepburn's Choice (Langside)
A fab single malt from Mortlach, distilled in 2007 and matured in a pair of wine barrels for 13 years. In 2020, the casks were opened up by indie bottler Langside, releasing a total of 512 bottles for the Hepburn's Choice series.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Waxed lemons, dried herbs, and savoury spices, with sweeter layers of caramel.
Palate
Chocolate raisins balance more cooking spices with hints of cumin and clove softened by rich citrus oils and sweet malt.
Finish
A touch of brine and earthen oak appear towards the end, with honeyed nuts followed by hints of new leather.
