Mortlach 13 Year Old 2004 - Old Particular Consortium of Cards (Douglas Laing)

The fourth and final 2017 release from Douglas Laing's Old Particular Consortium of Cards series is The Ace of Spades (because of course it had to be!). It's a 13 year old single malt from the Beast of Dufftown - Mortlach. Distilled in January 2004, it was finishing in a Sherry butt and bottled in November 2017, with an outturn of just 521 bottles.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose

Cinnamon-dusted plums, stewed pears and a subtle hint of meaty malt that Mortlach is well-known for.

Palate

Chewy date, oily walnuts and a hint of brandy-filled chocolates.

Finish

Raisins, dried orange peel and lingering toasted barley.
