Melon and Orange Melange 2001 (bottled 2016) - Wemyss Malts (Mortlach)

Melon and Orange Melange Bottling Note

A 2001 vintage Mortlach single malt, aged in a hogshead cask until it was bottled in 2016 by Wemyss Malts. 368 bottles were produced. Wemyss gave this one the name Melon and Orange Melange, which we enjoy because Melange is damn near close to being a portmanteau of Melon and Orange.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Fruit Salad sweeties, runny honey, a very slight waft of smoke.

Palate: Malty at first, but swiftly picks up notes of fresh banana and juicy tangerine.

Finish: Dry oak, clove and a lasting note of lime marmalade.
