Single Malt
Gordon & MacPhail
A full-bodied single malt from the Mortlach distillery, aged for 21 years in first fill and refill sherry casks before bottling by Gordon and MacPhail.
The nose is of medium-body with a defined clarity. There are notes of juicy esters with a touch of calvados, Commice pear and apple peels. A good barley sugar note with cut herbs. The palate is quite full with a richness. Notes of sherried peels and notes of fragrant oaks, hints stemmy dried hay, notes of dried fruits and wood resin. Finish is long and supple with apple blossom and sultanas.
I absolutely love it and I don't trust anyone that doesn't. Rich sweet delicious
Maybe not worth of £90, but for me its like liquid candy. I also think there is quite long and nice finish. Happy for the purchase.
I have to be honest, very disappointed. Doesn't taste anything like a 21 year old whiskey. no depth, no real thought provoking flavour. £80 wasted
My daughter brought me back a bottle of that wonderful single malt when she went to Scotland on a business trip. Whenever I server it to connaisseurs, they just love it.
Bought it in Elgin, in the shop of g&m, very very pepperisch, sharp, not smooth, taste like a 10 or younger whisky. Just good enough to mix it with pepsi.
