This is a 10 year old single malt from the Miltonduff distillery, independently bottled by Gordon & MacPhail for the Discovery series. Each of the Discovery bottlings comes presented in livery which places it in one of three flavour profile categories; 'Sherry', 'Smoky' or 'Bourbon'. This one falls into that first category - it's a delicious sherried treat!
beautiful burnished gold colour, light and complex nose with balanced vanilla, fruit and floral notes. good full taste with sherry and fruit, and a trace of citrus. Peppery finish fading to a soft coffee and cream maltiness. A delightful Dram. Excellent value for money
Excellent, easygoing whisky
Go with majority really nice malt..chocolate and smooth. Nice depth of flavour and mine was under £40 seems like many agree as its hard find a bottle at all.
Really deliciously easy to drink single malt full of soft vanilla and brown sugar flavours. I bought from a whisky shop in Inveraray where I was recommended this new-to-me brand. All the whiskey drinkers in the family enjoyed it. Will definitely buy again.
I tried this a bar a while ago and was blown away by how much the whisky took on the chocolate flavours. At the time my palate wasn't nearly as developed as it is now but it could still detect the strong notes of chocolate in this whisky. It reminds me of drinking a stout only this is many, many times better. 5/5
