Midleton's Very Rare series began in 1984, and this here is the 2008 release. The Irish whiskey (which is indeed very rare) was selected by master distiller at the time, Barry Crockett, who has since retired - it's even signed by the man himself!

A delightful dram, truly. I picked up a bottle during a layover at the Dublin Airport in 2010. It was a treat to myself as I returned stateside. It was soo good that I jealously guarded and sipped that bottle for years. Only allowing myself a small glass on special occasions. It's gone and now I'm sad for its loss. I'll have another bottle one day.
