An intriguing blended Irish whiskey from Micil. Inverin is made in small batches and is an eclectic blend. Made up of grain and peated and unpeated malt, the whiskey was matured separately in Pedro Ximenez, first-fill Pedro Ximenez, first-fill re-charred bourbon, chestnut, and first-fill peated poitín casks before being blended together. That's a lot of casks! The final product boasts plenty of layered smoky notes alongside silky sweetness and spice. A real winter warmer.
Baked apples, with vanilla pod, heaps of baking spices, and distant bonfires.
Smoked almonds, sizzling bacon, a touch of redcurrant, and chewy vanilla fudge.
Warm spices linger, along with smouldering embers.

I was never fond of peated whiskeys until I tried this one. I used to think they were all the same but I was wrong. I tried this whiskey while visiting the distillery. It's a superbly well-rounded whiskey with lots of fruit, wood spice and it has a lovely mouthfeel. The smoke is soft and sweet and more like barbeque than the typical medicinal character you get in some Islay whiskies. I was very impressed and the value is great too.
Bought it on my visit of the distillery, very worth while. The nose on the bottle brings me back to the distillery, delicate smoke, peaty, barley. Makes my mouth water. warm apple slices with brown sugar. Tasting, very light smoke, vanilla and apple. Warm and comforting aftertaste, very smooth not very spicy. Fanstastic scent in the empty glass. Whiskey is personal, this is my favourite
