Description
You'll find a number of these releases, each bottled at different natural cask strengths having been initially filled at 103 proof. They're filled at a lower strength than the industry standard as Michter's believes that this leads to a smoother, richer whiskey, even though there are greater costs for casks and storage. A very special Manhattan awaits here...
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Sweetly stewed fruits and currants, cola bottle sweeties, charred oak, a touch of eucalyptus.
Palate
Plenty of rye spice, backed by honeycomb, browned butter, toffee, and a touch of smoked oak and dried mint.
Finish
Pepper and cinnamon linger bringing fiery warmth, with dense, robust oak char.
