The US*1 Bourbon from Michter's in Louisville, Kentucky, is made in small batches, typically comprised of no more than two dozen barrels. Top quality stuff, brimming with caramel, vanilla and fruit notes, alongside a pleasing earthy quality at its core.

This small batch edition Bourbon is exceptionally smooth, reminiscent of a high-end brandy with distinct vanilla and caramel aromas, but without the overwhelming lingering taste that brandy typically imparts. It possesses a distinct Bourbon flavor, and now this has become one of my personal favorites.
Has to be one of the nicest bourbons I've tasted...totally recommend it ?

This is one of the best bourbons I've tasted with nice deep vanilla/ spice flavours, but there's a bit of a burn to it, which compromises it's smoothness and which renders it in the 'slightly overpriced/ overrated' category. Maybe it's down to the strength (45.7 %), but it definitely needs to be taken with a few drops of water. Worth buying again? Yes, though I'd sooner buy Four Roses Single Barrel, Elijah Craig Small Batch, and possibly Knob Creek (and also save a few bob in the process.)
